Affinity Quartet and Friends

Guests Isabella Bignasca (viola) and Emily Su (first violin) join the Affinity Quartet: Shane Chen (violin - unavailable), Nicholas Waters (violin), Mee Na Lojewski (cello), Josef Hanna (viola).

UK based Australian composer Brett Dean called Affinity Quartet "..a much needed 'New Guard' of Australian chamber music".

Richard Gill OAM said "This group of musicians has a collective wisdom and maturity which is singularly impressive...Affinity is a musical force with which to be reckoned."

About the Artists

Now based in Melbourne, award-winning Affinity Quartet has been praised for their "emotional breadth" and "flawless" approach to classical and contemporary chamber music. 

Entering its second decade in 2026, Affinity showcases some of today's most exciting musicians.  For this special programme, guest Emily Su appears as first violin (Shane Chen being unavailable) and guest violist Isabella Bignasca, recently returned from New York, joins Affinity to perform Mozart's moving String Quintet, K593.
